About the Founder:
Dr. Katherine Hall Newburgh, Ph.D
Katherine’s Story
Dr. Katherine Hall Newburgh (also published as Katherine Hall) wrote, produced, illustrated, and published her first book at seven years old. Winsomely entitled The Vegetarian Cat, the book details the exploits of an iconoclastic cat whose favorite food was broccoli, and who, despite pressure from other cats and a bewildered family of humans, simply could not conform to traditional culinary expectations. It seems, from the moment The Vegetarian Cat was launched into the world, the die was cast for Katherine’s career.
To date, Katherine now has two decades of experience editing, publishing, and marketing books. She began her career in 2006 as an Editorial Assistant with the acclaimed literary journal Salmagundi where she played an active role in the editorial and publishing process while being introduced to expansive thinkers and poets such as Frank Bidart, Seamus Heaney, Joyce Carol Oates, and Robert Pinskey, all of whom were regular contributors to the journal. She went on to work at Workman Publishing in New York City, managing special market accounts for best-sellers such as What to Expect When You’re Expecting.
Katherine is the award-winning author of three books, several peer-reviewed articles, and the weekly Substack passage, Annea’rah Speaks. She is the founder of Books of Eden Publishing, whose mission is to offer a home for similarly expansive thinkers, visionary writers, and stubborn iconoclasts.
In addition to her experience in writing, editing, and publishing, Katherine earned a Ph.D in Curriculum. Her doctoral work has given her extensive tools, theory, and experience moving ideas through structure and into realized form. She has applied this knowledge in traditional educational fields, as well as in research, program evaluation, and leadership consulting
Katherine collaborates with writers and leaders who have stories to tell and big dreams to realize.
Overall, Katherine believes that this world we live in is far more magical than we currently understand. She believes that humans are truly unlimited beings capable of immense creation. She strives each day to live this truth to the fullest and invites you wholeheartedly to join her.

What we Publish
Books of Eden Publishing publishes books and media that transmit the wisdom and understanding of a new way of being- one founded on universal love and the acknowledgement of the divinity of form. We celebrate the dignity and grace of our human experience. As such, our materials are both practical and mystical, guiding awakened souls into the light of their own truth while catalyzing real, tangible differences in the material world.
Our books and media fall into four (interconnected) categories:
New Sacred Texts
Practical Mysticism
Spiritual Technology
Stories of the New Humanity
Books of Eden Publishing introduces a new genre: Pedagogy of the Divine.
Pedagogy of the Divine:
How the Divine Teaches Us
In this “genre,” the divine speaks through us as the higher aspects of self that break through illusion and “what has been” to articulate something unprecedented- a New Earth founded on principles of unconditional worthiness, divine love, beauty, and reverence for all beings. In this way, the divine teaches us, as us. Our books are an expression of our embodied divinity. We teach through words, yes, which emerge from that deep place of interconnection. However, writers in this genre also offer their very presence as a herald of a loving, harmonious way of being on Earth. In this way, writers in this genre are the embodied wayshowers of the New Eden.
The books of this genre are not religious nor associated with any specific wisdom tradition. They recognize the inherent divinity of all people and acknowledge that wherever there is love, there is the potential for transformation.
As a microcosmic reflection of divine creativity, you will notice that the books and materials offered here wouldn’t fit on any single, predetermined “shelf.” This is why we had to create our own! You may find memoir next to research, children’s books next to non-fiction. You may even find the same author writing in extremely different styles, or books that are different from anything you have ever seen. The connecting thread is each book’s dedication to bringing you closer to your own boundless and divine nature.
In this way, the books we publish demonstrate that the method for engaging with the divine is wide open: multifaceted, spacious, and unbound by what has come before. The only unifying thread for our authors is authentic expression of the ways in which their lives were shaped, guided, and taught by a force much greater, more loving, more intimate, and more present than we could know with our minds.
